Opening date announced for Melco's City of Dreams Mediterranean resort in Cyprus: Set to launch on July 10, 2023.
In the heart of Limassol, Cyprus, the highly anticipated City of Dreams Mediterranean Casino Resort is set to open its doors on July 10, 2023. This will mark the first foray of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd., a NASDAQ-listed company specialising in the casino and entertainment industry, into Europe.
Initially scheduled to open in 2022, the opening was delayed by a year due to the pandemic. Now, with the soft launch planned for June 12, 2023, excitement is building among locals and tourists alike.
Unlike its counterparts in Macau and the Philippines, the City of Dreams Mediterranean does not replicate its design. Instead, it promises a unique Mediterranean aesthetic, blending seamlessly with the picturesque landscapes of Cyprus. Each guest at the resort will enjoy breathtaking views of the Akrotiri Salt Lake, Troodos mountain range, or Lady's Mile Beach.
The resort boasts Europe's largest gaming and entertainment complex, spanning over 7,500 sq.m. It features a casino offering slot machines, classic table games, and a substantial poker area. Accommodation-wise, the resort offers 500 rooms and suites, including the largest presidential suite in Cyprus.
In addition to gaming, the City of Dreams Mediterranean will offer a host of entertainment options. From live performances to an adventure park with a zip line, there's something for everyone. The resort's 30,000 sq.m. pool area, the largest in Cyprus, is set to become a popular destination for both guests and locals.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd., led by Lawrence Ho, has a strong presence in various Asian countries, operating casinos and hotels. The City of Dreams Mediterranean will be their first location in Europe, further expanding their global footprint.
